Gastroparesis: Fighting for Change

Gastroparesis Awareness Month – August 2026Every year, Gastroparesis: Fighting for Change supports Gastroparesis awareness by engaging in a themed campaign designed to highlight our community’s issues, needs, and goals. This year’s theme, "Champions of Change," celebrates the efforts of all the fabulous advocates who fight to make a difference for our GP community. We encourage you to share memes, graphics, photos, factual information, events, and your stories using the hashtag #GPChangemakers. In addition to our campaign, we encourage you to support the efforts of the nonprofits dedicated to improving lives for patients living with GP. IFFGD will host its "More than Invisible" (#MoreThanInvisible) campaign, which endeavors to make visible the impact of this illness and the struggles of those impacted by the misunderstanding, delayed diagnosis, and isolation that often accompany GP. Visit the IFFGD website at www.iffgd.org for a downloadable social media toolkit and watch their page for informational posts!Association of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders (AGMD) will host numerous online webinars and calls throughout the month to help educate the public and offer support to patients and caregivers. You can find a list of events on the AGMD website at www.agmdhope.org under the "Upcoming Events" calendar section and on the AGMD social media pages.G-PACT (Gastroparesis Patient Association for Cures and Treatments, Inc) will host several podcasts and patient events and share informational and inspirational posts during the month of August. Gastroparesis Pie Face Challenge offers its annual "Dash and Smash," along with various games and challenges as well. You can find more information on their social media pages and at www.g-pact.org.Please follow our public community page, Gastroparesis: Fighting for Change, for information and further details about upcoming Gastroparesis Awareness Month events!Together, we can make a difference. Stand up, speak out, and demand better!#CureGP #Gastroparesis
